  • Talking Points Documents on Key Legislative Issues Posted
    TASA staff have produced four one-page talking points documents on key issues for this legislative session. These PDF documents are intended to provide information to school leaders as they discuss the following issues with legislators. The documents are accessible via the TASA Engaging with Policymakers Toolkit.

  • March 15: Deadline to Register for the 2019 Texas Reads One Book Program
    Texas Reads One Book is a statewide community reading experience that will kick off April 15 with a videotaped reading by Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett of the first chapter of Friendship According to Humphrey. Families of participating elementary students will take up where Coach Garrett leaves off, reading a chapter from the book each night. Participating schools have the option to receive everything they need, including a copy of the selected book for each student, reading schedules, assembly skits, suggested activities, trivia questions, plus family literacy and parental education components for just $5.95 per student. Or, schools can purchase their own copies of the book and get all the resource materials needed to participate for just $1 per student. Learn more.

  • April 12: Registration Deadline for Level 2 CMAT
    TASA will offer Level 2 CMAT in Austin April 23-25 that focuses on the best thinking in curriculum, assessment, and instructional design and delivery, while preparing participants to examine and evaluate system-based issues in an effort to optimize the delivery of effective teaching and learning. Register by April 12.

2019 TASA/TASB Convention Announcements

  • March 15: TASA/TASB Convention Session Selector Opens
    The concurrent session proposals for the 2019 TASA/TASB Convention are in, and the session selector process will begin soon! From March 15 to 31, board members, administrators, and other attendees may vote on the proposals they want to see become sessions at TASA/TASB. Learn more.

    TASA's Corporate Partner Program

    TASA's Corporate Partner Program gives companies that do business with schools ongoing recognition and visibility through a choice of event/advertising packages, ranging from $10,000 to $40,000.
