Encourage Participation in Educator and Student Voting Days

10.18.2018 — A number of education-related groups are working together to encourage educators to vote the first day of early voting, Monday, October 22, to:

  • ensure all educators actually get out and vote
  • allow educators to model civic engagement for students and others by wearing "I Voted" stickers on campus
  • free educators up to help others get to the polls throughout the remainder of early voting (which ends Friday, November 2) and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6

Please encourage educators on your campuses and in your districts to get out and vote on Educator Voting Day, Monday, October 22. Feel free to download the following graphic to use to help spread the word or retweet from TASA's Twitter profile or share from the TASA Facebook page.

If you need a refresher on what it is legal for administrators to do in relation to elections, be sure to explore TASA's Voting and Elections Toolkit. It provides links to resources to guide you through the voting and election processes and to help you encourage others to vote in support of public education.
