October 9: House Appropriation Committee to Hear Testimony on School Safety and Special Education

10.01.2018 — The House Appropriations Committee will meet at 9 a.m., October 9, in Room E1.030 of the Capitol extension to hear testimony on the following interim charge:

"Examine the availability of federal funding and Governor's Criminal Justice grants that may directly or indirectly improve school safety. Evaluate the potential costs of proposals identified by the Governor and House Committees related to improving access to mental health services for children, improved school safety, and enhanced firearm safety."

The committee will also receive an update from TEA on the Special Education Strategic Plan.

The committee will hear invited testimony only.
