TEA Posts Third-Party Evaluator’s Report of STAAR Validity/Reliability
04.04.2016 — TEA has posted on its website a report by the Human Resources Research Organization, with which the agency contracted for an independent evaluation of the validity and reliability of the STAAR in grades 3-8 to comply with House Bill 743, passed by the 2015 Texas Legislature.
Read Part I of the evaluation, which contains the evaluation of STAAR for grades 5 and 8 math and reading as well as grades 4 and 7 writing. Part II, which will include the remaining assessments administered in grades 3-8, is due in May 2016.
The report is among the agenda items for the Committee of the Full Board meeting tomorrow, April 5, at 1 p.m., when the SBOE will have the opportunity to discuss the report and adopt recommendations to provide to the Texas Legislature based on the report.
