Senate postponed taking action on HB 5 until Monday, May 6
Please contact your senator again and encourage him or her to vote for HB 5. It is critical that you call your senator, whether Democrat or Republican, to reiterate how important it is to pass this bill. The amendments that were proposed in advance of today’s session reflected no change in the number of end-of-course exams (five tests including Algebra I, English II reading and writing, Biology, and U.S. History) and suggested a delay in the implementation of A–F district ratings until the 2016–2017 school year.
The Senate is scheduled to convene at 11 a.m. on Monday.
