29th Texas Assessment Conference to Convene

02.11.2015 — School leaders and other school officials from across Texas will gather in Austin February 15-18 for the Texas Assessment Conference, co-sponsored by TASA, along with the Texas Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education (TAACE), Texas Association of Collegiate Testing Personnel (TACTP), and Texas Statewide Network of Assessment Professionals (TSNAP).

Now in its 29th year, the Texas Assessment Conference remains the only statewide conference dedicated to providing the latest information regarding assessment, testing, and accountability in education — elementary, secondary, and post-secondary. Attendees receive the most current information from state agencies and policymakers, and they share best implementation practices in schools, districts, colleges, and universities.

Sociologist, educator, and best-selling author Bertice Berry, Ph.D., will outline tools for increasing morale and promoting an energized workforce during the opening general session, Monday, February 16, 1:30–2:30 p.m. The conference will wrap up Wednesday, February 18, at noon, following the closing general session with Clint Swindall, president and CEO of Verbalocity. His humorous, high-energy session is designed to inspire attendees to focus on the “good stuff” in life, rather than the negative.

The TACTP Conference will be held in conjunction with the Texas Assessment Conference. Founded in 1988, TACTP is a nonprofit organization for individuals who have an interest in or responsibility for administration of educational and psychological testing and assessment programs at Texas colleges and universities.
