TASA Expands Free iTunes U® Teacher Resources to Include Elementary Core Content
Building on the previous 42 course resource collections available in TASA on iTunes U, TASA engaged content curation teams of 130 teachers and content specialists in fall 2014 to identify and develop collections of TEKS-aligned digital resources in elementary core content areas at both the early (grades K-2) and intermediate (grades 3-5) elementary levels, as well as new middle school and high school courses in core academic and career and technical education (CTE) areas. The teams also updated the original high school core subject courses to provide a more engaging experience for educators.
"We hope that elementary math teachers will find these new math resources especially helpful as they continue to implement the revised math TEKS," said TASA Executive Director Johnny Veselka. The new resource collections complement the existing middle school and high school core content, college preparatory, CTE and advanced academics courses already available at no charge to Texas districts and educators through TASA on iTunes U.
The resource collections are designed to foster creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills in an engaging, digitally rich learning environment. With today's additions, TASA on iTunes U now offers a full complement of resources for all grade levels in elementary mathematics. The resources released in TASA on iTunes U today include the following and bring the total number of collections in the library to 58:
|Early Elementary (Grades K-2)||Literacy; Mathematics; Science|
|Intermediate Elementary||(Grades 3-5)Literacy; Mathematics; Science; Social Studies|
