TASA Releases Middle School, Additional High School Resources on iTunes U®
The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) today announced the expansion of digital resources in TASA on iTunes U® to now include the introduction of middle school core subjects and additional high school subject areas, including various career and technical education (CTE) and advanced academics.
In May 2014, TASA selected 56 additional Texas educators to engage in an expansion of its digital resource collections in TASA on iTunes U®. During three-day summer camps in June, content curation teams of experienced teachers and content specialists began identifying and developing collections of TEKS-aligned digital resources in middle school core subjects and high school subject areas.
Following a nearly three month design process, these vetted resource collections are available free of charge to Texas districts through TASA on iTunes U®, complementing the existing 27 high school core-content and college preparatory courses currently available. The collections of resources are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills in an engaging, digitally rich learning environment. The new courses released to TASA on iTunes U® today include:
|Grade 6||Mathematics; Science; Social Studies|
|Grade 7||English Language Arts and Reading; Science|
|Grade 8||English Language Arts and Reading; Science; Social Studies|
|High School||Anatomy & Physiology; Creative Writing; High School Reading; Principles of Health Science; Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications; Professional Communications|
Additional courses from this expansion effort are scheduled to be released in October 2014.
