SB 149 Graduation Bill Passed by House Public Education Committee
04.08.2015 — On Tuesday, April 7, the House Public Education Committee passed its first Senate bill, SB 149 by Kel Seliger, with a unanimous vote. TASA and many others in the education community support this bill.
It would allow a student who passes all classes but fails no more than one EOC exam to graduate with the unanimous approval of an individual graduation committee composed of teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents. SB 149 now goes before the full House of Representatives. The other bills considered by the committee were left pending.
