2018 Midwinter Conference Announcements

  • Budget Boot Camp to be Offered at 2018 Midwinter Conference
    At TASA’s Budget Boot Camp, to be held 7:30 a.m. to noon on January 28 prior to the kickoff of the 2018 Midwinter Conference, school finance experts and TASA consultants Doug Karr and Omar Garcia will give administrators the opportunity to: complete and/or update the latest release of the state funding template under guided instruction; project state and local revenue for the previous, current, and future school years for current and future planning purposes; monitor the under/overpayment of Foundation School Fund state aid for the current school year; and ask questions and dialogue about other school-finance related items. Register by January 12!

  • Accountability Forum Seminar to Be Held After Midwinter Conference
    TASA will offer “Symphony or Cacophony? How ESSA and New State Laws are Shaping Accountability,” a seminar to be held January 31, 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., immediately following the 2018 TASA Midwinter Conference in Austin, as a benefit to TASA Accountability Forum subscribers. Districts that subscribe to TASA’s Accountability Forum may send up to three attendees at no cost; attendees from non-subscribing districts may register for $175 each. Register today!

  • Aspiring Superintendents’ Academy at Midwinter Conference a Learning Opportunity for Future Superintendents
    TASA's popular Aspiring Superintendents’ Academy for those who aspire to become superintendents will be offered during the Midwinter Conference. The 2018 academy will focus on the moral and aesthetic dimensions of being the top education leader in a school district and community with attention given to developing clarity about the beliefs and values that result in distinguished leadership in a connected and digitized world. The academy offers more than eight hours of professional learning in preparation for the superintendency. To register, select the optional Aspiring Superintendents’ Academy when registering for the TASA Midwinter Conference in the TASA Member Services Center, or register on-site. Cost is $125 (in addition to the conference registration fee).

    Early-bird registration and housing requests for the 2018 Midwinter Conference is open! Register by December 15 to save $60 off the on-site registration fee. Book housing by December 26.
