Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Network
The Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Network was designed in 2015 to provide the members of the original Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Institute and other school leaders committed to MISSION: School Transformation with opportunities to build on their understanding of and initiate innovative systemic changes locally and statewide. The network is superintendent-designed and superintendent-led, with the help and support of the Texas Association of School Administrators, to assist participants as they expand their leadership beyond the local level and propel the mission forward in the coming years.
The inaugural Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Network participants organized a series of events held during the 2015-16 school year, including a Superintendents' EdCamp, visits to both Milliken & Co.'s corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Google's offices in Austin, and another Superintendents' EdCamp to wrap up the year and plan for 2016-17.During the November 2015 trip to Milliken & Co., the textile and floor covering manufacturer, known for its innovation, welcomed the group to its headquarters, where the superintendents toured the facilities and had the opportunity to learn about the culture and leadership of the organization. The goal of the trip was for the school leaders to return home inspired to design and initiate innovative systemic changes that prepare students in their districts to be future-ready.
