Professional Ethics Symposium

  • A follow-up to "Professional Ethics for Educators—A Threshold Higher than Law," the popular webinar held in September 2017, this symposium will allow attendees to more deeply explore and train staff to handle the nuances of student-teacher relationships.

    Why attend?

In May 2017, Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law SB 7, which requires Texas principals and superintendents to report cases of teachers (or other school employees) engaging in inappropriate relationships with students or face a state jail felony and a fine of up to $10,000. Though cracking down on those who don’t report inappropriate relationships may help ensure offenders don’t return to the classroom, prevention is crucial—and it’s not as simple as some might think.
