The Academy for Transformational Leadership (ATL) will be hosted again in Georgetown ISD for 2019-20. The academy includes four two-day sessions to be held in September and November 2019 and January and March 2020. Who should attend? July 15: Deadline for 2020 TASA Midwinter Conference Concurrent Session Proposals
It's time to submit concurrent session proposals for the 2020 TASA Midwinter Conference, to be held January 26-29 in Austin! New: TASA is using the Session Selector process. Potential presenters submit proposals for sessions May 15-July 15. Attendees review them August 1-15 and vote on the sessions they’re interested in attending. Learn more.
04.01.2019 — As House Bill (HB) 3, “The Texas Plan” for school finance, heads to the floor of the Texas House April 3, TASA is pleased to share a new video that emphasizes the essential role that public education plays in the future of the Texas economy.
03.28.2019 — The TASA Executive Committee approved two at-large appointments to the committee and elected the 2019-20 TASA president-elect and vice president.
05.29.2019 (updated since original posting) — HB 3906 relating to student assessment emerged from conference committee and was passed by both the House and Senate on Sunday, May 26.
05.23.2019 — Gov. Greg Abbott held a joint press conference with Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Speaker Dennis Bonnen this afternoon. The three, surrounded by the members of the House and Senate Education committees, announced that the conference committee had come to an agreement on HB 3 on school finance.
