The Digital Learning Forums and Site Visits are designed to introduce district leadership teams to the potential of emerging technologies for making learning vibrant and engaging for all students. Teams will engage in challenge-based learning activities in interactive sessions, immerse themselves in the principles of the new vision outlined in Creating a New Vision for Public Education in Texas, and be inspired — through campus site visits — with ideas for achieving organizational transformation in today’s digital learning environment.
In each forum, teams will examine how students interact with content and technology, changing roles for educators and leaders in a transformed system, and leadership strategies for successful immersion. Participants will engage in hands-on opportunities to explore such tools and resources as the SAMR Model, iBooks and iBooks Author, educational Apps, iTunes U platform, and the free, curated resources available through the K-12, TEKS-aligned TASA on iTunes U initiative.
Day 1 (Forum): 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Day 2 (Site Visit): 8:30 a.m. – noon
Who Should Attend
The forum is best experienced as a “team of three.” Districts should send at least one campus- or district-level leader, ideally the superintendent or a deputy/associate/assistant superintendent. Please contact Josie Marshman, TASA leadership services coordinator, with any questions about registration requirements.
