2018 TASA/UTSA Spring Leadership Conference

  • The Spring Leadership Conference is a special opportunity for in-depth professional learning, generally focusing on some aspect of the association's MISSION: School Transformation work. Hosted jointly by TASA and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), the 2018 Spring Leadership Conference will be held March 27-28, 2018, at the UTSA Conference Center on the UTSA Downtown Campus (Durango Building) in downtown San Antonio, Texas.

2018 Conference Focus: Personalized Leadership Development

This year's conference topics will center around the need for individualization, differentiation, and customization of student learning, professional learning, and leadership development in our schools and districts.

Craig Boyan, H-E-B president The conference will emphasize "Personalized Leadership" with an opening keynote by Craig Boyan, president of H-E-B, that concentrates on the company's distinct focus on customization. The conference design aims to draw significant parallels between his message and the work we are striving to accomplish in public education.

Facilitated role-based and issue-based collaborative conversations will engage teams in various topics such as teacher leadership, principal networks, central office support, and personal transformational leadership in the context of such issues as a growth mindset culture, time management, organizational transformation, assessment and accountability, digital learning for leaders, board leadership, and developing parent and student leaders and community and faith-based partnerships.

Additional general sessions will touch on K-12 and higher education partnerships to grow leaders within your district and how the vision cast in Creating a New Vision in Public Education in Texas is being realized in MISSION: School Transformation today.
