Creating a Powerful Texas Network . . .

The Standard-Bearer Network
The Texas Standard-Bearer Network is based on the Schlechty Center's national Standard-Bearer School District Network.  School district leaders who join the Texas Standard-Bearer Network commit to the following:

  • Clarify about results and how to measure results
  • Pursuit of Working on the Work (WOW) as the core business and major vehicle for achieving results
  • Enhancement of system capacity to support and sustain WOW
  • Development of leaders to support WOW as the core business
  • Participation in major conferences and acadmies
  • Three years of membership in the network

The Standard-Bearer Network provides:

  • On-site work with Schlechty Center senior associates
  • Development of district work plan addressing membership commitments, strategy to measure results, a Working on the Work (WOW) strategy, leadership development strategy, and a capacity assessment strategy
  • Opportunity to participate in WOW and Key Leaders' conferences
  • Access to Schlechty Center's eLeadership Series

Standard Bearer District Members:
Allen, Birdville, College Station, Corpus Christi, Cotulla, Duncanville, Forney, Fort Sam Houston, Grand Prairie, Hereford, Highland Park, Killeen, La Joya, La Pryor, Lufkin, Midlothian, Northwest, Pearsall, Rockwall, Royal, Spring, and Wylie.

The Schlechty Center Texas Engagement Consortia
The minimum fee of $15,000 to participate in a consortium of five or more districts (The Schlechty Center Texas Engagement Consortia) provides each district with 2 days of on-site support with a senior associate plus participation of up to 7 district members (seats) at various Schlechty Center conferences.  The seats may be used at any of the conferences offered by the Schlechty Center, including the WOW conference for teachers, the Principals Academy, and other topical conferences such as Induction, Evaluation, etc.  The consortium member districts are entitled to schedule 4 days at a common site for work with Center staff; districts may take up to 25 participants to the common sessions.
