Many superintendents do not realize that through their TASA membership they have access to an attorney who works for and on behalf of Texas superintendents. This important benefit -- which is available to all active TASA members -- is designed to enhance the quality of education administration by providing financial assistance to active members who may become involved in legal proceedings relating to their professional duties, responsibilities, and/or employment status. This program allows members to receive up to two hours of legal assistance from TASA's general counsel. Special assistance is available in the development of the superintendent's contract and through specialized workshops on legal issues. These services are provided by TASA's general counsel, Neal W. Adams of the Adams, Lynch and Loftin, P.C., law firm.
In order to access legal support, members must contact Paul Whitton, Jr., in the TASA office directly, 512-477-6361 or 800-725-8272.
