About the Texas Assessment Conference
The Texas Assessment Conference, now in its 24th year, remains the only statewide conference in Texas dedicated to assessment in education. The conference brings together a unique combination of teachers, counselors, school administrators, college-level instructors, and testing specialists, along with staff from the Texas Education Agency. Conference topics cover a broad spectrum of assessment issues, accountability issues, the latest information on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) and end-of-course assessments, alternate assessment systems for students served by special education and English Language Learners (ELL), college/university testing issues, best practices from districts, and more.
About the Texas Association of Collegiate Testing Personnel Conference
The Texas Association of Collegiate Testing Personnel (TACTP) was founded in 1988 to provide a professional organization for persons involved in test administration in higher education in Texas. In February 2000, TACTP began holding its annual conference in conjunction with the Annual Texas Assessment Conference. This arrangement benefits both the TACTP members and the Texas Assessment Conference attendees.
